Joe le Plumber: Stray political freight on Prisonship

‘Having a hard time loading this video on Organizing Grievances, for some random reason. However, I trust all you rock n’ roll types can appreciate this pile of garbage.

One of 2008’s quintessential terminated media fetuses, Joe cannot help but decry the media. Who flew this man to Israel? I want a credit card number. Like nitrous oxide, this ninety seconds of lunacy will certainly make you stupider, but you probably won’t regret it if you just check it out once.

    Holy Shit.
Do you think that Joe secretly hopes that the CIA will fit him into some Iron Man style suit so he can just take care of the terrorists himself? I do.

The tyranny of the Average American.

  3. lexdexter Says:

agreed, wobs. add to that the tyranny of “centrism,” and you’ve got a pretty good picture of the broad-stroke political-cultural problems facing a “change” administration.

Jordan — yeah, and then Ben Stiller can play him in his first “serious” role.

Re: Wobs and Lex — Are Palin and Joe the Plumber the two most popular Republicans right now?

at least I know how to pronounce Sderot now, anyway.

    r + b,
I certainly hope so. If that’s the case, the inmates (conservative wingnuts) are totally running the asylum (GOP), and they’re going to have a long crawl back to seeming “reasonable” about the country’s future.

Look out for Newt, though. Newt is to be feared, I think. Wobs?

  7. evil r + b guy Says:

You mean something like a Newt/Corker axis?

  8. wobs Says:

Palin is definitely the most popular figure among what remains of Republicans these days. And I hope it stays that way.

I don’t think Joe is necessarily popular with people so much as he is with GOP “tastemakers” (and I use that term very, very lightly). He’s a complete tool who other people have discovered they can use to make a buck because, let’s face it, we’re a society of rubberneckers, and the extended 15 minutes of Joe the Plumber is a nice popular culture trainwreck.

As for Newt, the man’s crazy smart and has staked out some moderate positions that definitely differentiate him from your run of the mill GOP loon. On the other hand, he’s not tremendously well liked in the institutional world of the GOP. On the other other hand, he divorced one wife while she was recovering from cancer surgery, and then cheated on his next wife, then making that mistress Mrs. Gingrich 3.0. You can do that sort of shit in the House, but that won’t fly in a presidential campaign. I don’t think Newt’s got legs.
