bad news today. i just heard of the break-up of rock n’ punk legends dead moon. they played heartfelt raenie-rock for twenty years, to hordes in europe and record slobs in the states. i scored their ‘doa’ b/w ‘dagger moon’ 7″ when i was cassidy’s age, and played the poop outta it. ‘finally got to see ’em in a divey, divey all ages dump in cottage grove. i was stone sober but they shone through. incredible, incredible rock, emblematic of a certain rocking age-set here in the pacific Northwest that presses on, oblivious to all the anemic Portland indie-blah. salut, dead moon!
