PrisonShip Imaginary Seven-Inch Series, vol 5

Tower Recordings, Empress, Ache and Touch the Sun b/w Braille Metronome

This band achieves things that only a profound, ritual disavowal of form and a profound, revisionist respect for form  can produce. There is a weird ‘freedom’ that obtains when writers can walk and flaunt such impossible, ineffable lines. I think about this music when I think about the kind of music I’d be happy making. I can see Cassidy and Raenie and I playing music like this if we were given a cabin and some rations. It’s family music.
