born against

ah, check out ‘my’ kind of hardcore music, born against. their bio is as fascinating as their fascinating records, and their members/organizers helped create the thriving, leftist punk and indie scene that laid in wait for PJH in the early 90s Jersey burbs…..here’s an ep’s worth at 7inchpunk, though i’d strongly suggest digging deeper and mining the beautiful reissues courtesy of kill rock stars.

(edit: the best i could find bio-wise is frontman sam mcpheeters’ liners for the reissues; note his reference to the articles of faith anthology and win the prize of glimpsing some sort of ‘unknown legends of HC’ sensibility. ah, and thanks for the AOF comp, dan!)

Stirling’s Coffee Houses’ newest family member was born to Eleanor & Austin Lacy last night around 7:30. His name is Thomas Austin. He weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz and was (and probably still is) 20 inches long.
Unfortunately both he & his mother got confused. She took nothing for the pain, he caused a great deal of it and took his time. I’m sure this issue has been resolved and he will for evermore be the perfect child. The family is healthy and happy.

Props for posting the baby announcement in the “Born Against” post.

By the way, in case nobody heard, Austin and Eleanor named their child T-Rex.
